Jennifer Lopez sits down with MTV to talk about new music

MTV hooked up with Jennifer on the set of The Back-Up Plan to have a chat about Jen’s return to the music scene.
We haven’t heard that much from Jennifer Lopez in a while. Since she and husband Marc Anthony welcomed twins in February 2008, Lopez has been lying low and spending time with Emme and Max.
But the superstar singer/actress told MTV News on the set of her new film “The Back-Up Plan” (due in theaters in January) that she’s excited to get back to work.
“I worked on music while I was pregnant and while I was at home, but now to really get into it and focus on it and to finish the project is exciting,” Lopez said.
She is already working on her next album, which will be the first since 2007’s Brave. Lopez said she’s working on a few singles and trying to finish the album, so it could be out later this year. The album will have a very focused concept, but she wasn’t willing to reveal exactly what that concept is just yet.
“You can’t help but put not only your kids into it, but to put anything you are going through in your music,” she said. “That’s the only thing you can really sing or write is stuff that you know. The more music you make and the more that you get into it and the more you write, the more you realize that’s all you can write.”
She said that the leaked songs “One Love” and “What Is Love” do hint at the direction of the album.
“You can kind of get a gist of where I’m going with it, I think,” she said. “But yeah, I love those songs, and I think they’ll be great hits. I don’t think they’ll be the first singles. I just love making great pop/dance music with beautiful lyrics, and that’s what I always kind of go for.”
I have to say that I’m really happy mama Lo finally talked about the album! I’m really excited about this album and can’t wait the hear the first single pumping through my stereo. As soon as we find out more about the album, you will read it here on OnlineJLoFan.com!

This is great news. A whole new album
I can’t believe it. Does this imply that the Greatest Hits album will be cancelled/put on hold? That’d be wise, because GH aren’t really popular these days.
Although I rarely comment, I love your site. I visit it whenever I have time and there is always so much news to be read. Keep up the excellent work!

I am really happy to hear about this! Sounds like she’s making a complete new album, if it was a Greatest Hits she would’ve explained how this is her 10th year in the scene, etc….

heard from someone that Sony Music BMG Philippines has the album listed for a release at the 4th quarter of 2009. and that its gonna be a Greatest Hits album + new album, called ‘Back 2 Back’.
not sure if its true though, but you never know

This is absolutely amazing! I can’t wait, wanna know the name of the album! Seeing her this busy makes me excited about all of her projects. And I like her hair way better like this, wavy, pushed back a little bit and not so much in the face.
Hopefully she enjoys making the movie as much as we will enjoy it!

btw: I think the concept of the album will be her way to finding true happiness
I think the first songs on the album will be about a woman who just came out of a relationship.
What Is Love could easily be 2nd, cuz the next step in the process will probably wondering if you ever gonna find love. I think as the album continues a guy will get caught her attention again, maybe One Love.

think the album will close with a tribute song for the twins (we know she recorded one cuz there were reports they played the song at the Noche de Niños gala) and this song will probably symbolize true happiness.
dont know if this is the concept for sure, but I truly think it is!
