According to Fox News, Jennifer’s deal with American Idol is not going through. Rumors have it that Jen’s demands got too extravagent and FOX decided to not go through with her contract.

“[Jennifer] is currently negotiating with another label.”

According to a new article posted by Deadline Hollywood, Jennifer Lopez and Sony Music Epic Records have parted ways.

The news comes after an interview of Jennifer with Extra, in which she was vague on whether her album “Love?” would even be released this year. Saying,

“I’m working on my album that will be out… hopefully this year; we’ll see if I get it done… You know how it is, you go in you’re there non-stop, you leave it alone for a minute and you come back – you’re like, okay, this is what I need.”

Jennifer Lopez has parted ways with her record label, Sony’s Epic Records, as first reported by Deadline.com’s Nikki Finke (Lopez’s rep confirms the split to EW). The once-hot singer-actress had begun to stage her musical comeback late last year when she released a new single, “Louboutins,” and then fell while singing it at November’s American Music Awards. (See photo at left.) This likely means that Lopez’s seventh studio album, LOVE?, will not hit stores in April as had previously been planned.

Finke cites insiders who said that Lopez’s last two singles (“Louboutins” and “Fresh Out the Oven”) fulfilled the contract she had with Epic, and that LOVE?—said to feature production work from the Neptunes and Darkchild—was never finished. Lopez’s manager Benny Medina told Finke in a statement that “Jennifer had a wonderful relationship with the Sony Music group, and they have shared many successes together, but the time was right to make a change that best serves the direction her career as an actress and recording artist. She is grateful and appreciative to everyone Sony for all that they accomplished together.”

Lopez apparently isn’t walking away from her music career: Her rep tells EW that the singer is currently negotiating with another label.

Lopez is still set to host Saturday Night Live this coming weekend. Although, now it seems she doesn’t even have an album-in-the-works to pimp during the monologue. Should she possibly just pursue a talk-show gig instead? Weigh in below, Music Mixers.

Jennifer Lopez has spent most of her singing career at Sony Music Epic Records. The bland version of what happened, I’m told, is that the contract period had ended and that Lopez had fulfilled it with her last two singles, and that Lopez and Stringer decided together not to move forward with an album. Others insist the Sony label dropped her. There also is disagreement on how finished her upcoming album was before it was canceled. Internet reports say her 7th studio album, titled “Love?”, was supposed to come out in April and featured production from Danja, Jim Jonsin, Darkchild, Chris n Teeb from Dropzone, and The Neptunes among others. A song from it titled “Fresh Out The Oven” surfaced online in October 2009 as a buzz single and reached #1 on the U.S. Hot Dance Club Songs chart. But the official lead single, “Louboutins”, had its radio debut on November 23 following the song’s premiere and performance at the 2009 American Music Awards and then peaked at #31 on the Hot Dance Club Songs chart.

Lopez insiders claim to me the album was “by no means done” and everyone was “only a few songs into it” and “unlike movie dates, street dates rarely hold in the music biz”. But that album was real enough to delay the release of her upcoming CBS Film, The Back-Up Plan (see below). Others tell me the album isn’t being released because “Louboutins” bombed, as did her performance at the American Music Awards, and Sony Music execs “aren’t sure who her audience is anymore. Where once she had little girls, she’s been supplanted by Beyonce, Gaga, and Rhianna. Lots of fighting going on between Benny Medina (who, of course, is spending their money like it’s 10 years ago) and the label.”

But when I began inquiring about this, her manager Benny Medina emailed this morning to confirm the split. “Jennifer had a wonderful relationship with the Sony Music group, and they have shared many successes together, but the time was right to make a change that best serves the direction her career as an actress and recording artist. She is grateful and appreciative to everyone Sony for all that they accomplished together.”

The Lopez insiders claim the decision was “a mutual one” between the star and label’s current CEO Rob Stringer (younger brother to Sony parent company CEO Howard Stringer). They say the two had a meeting at the Four Seasons Hotel in Los Angeles during Grammy week, and, after a “heart-to-heart” conversation, the star and executive decided to end the long relationship. “It was all very amicable. They hugged at the end of the meeting,” claims one. Meanwhile, I understand that Sony will still be releasing her “Greatest Hits” album in the fall.

Supposedly, Lopez has not wasted any time getting signed elsewhere: it’s rumored she is already in talks with Island Def Jam’s bigwig L.A. Reid to come to his label. Granted, this is a tough time for music artists, especially those like Lopez who were once big in the biz and now are battling not only the changed economics and rampant piracy but also the moving target of today’s music fans. JLo insiders insist none of this is fazing Lopez, who took time off to have two kids with her recording star husband, Marc Anthony, and who is just now returning to her acting career with the release of the feature The Back Up Plan.

But CBS Films recently announced it’s postponing the release of that romantic comedy to April 23rd, same weekend as Wall Street 2 and MacGruber. It had been scheduled for April 16th which then got too crowded. And before that January 22nd when it was to be the first CBS Film. Complicating The Back-Up Plan’s release as well was that J-Lo/Sony album and exactly when she’d be available to do publicity for the film. Well, no one has to worry about that now.

Meanwhile, JLo is scheduled as both the musical guest and the host of Saturday Night Live next weekend. But now she has no record and no movie to promote. Hmm.

UPDATE: Coty Inc. confirmed to us that this is not the official ad for Blue Glow and that Jennifer Lopez will not be featured in the ads.

Back in December, we already reported that Jennifer Lopez would be coming out with the fragrance Blue Glow. The fragrance, a fruity floral, opens on top notes of mangosteen, Valencia orange and redcurrant blossom, building to a heart of wild water lily, vintage rose, vanilla orchid and a shimmering water accord. The base is a blend of cedarwood, mahogany wood, florymoss and Venezuelan Tonka bean.

The bottle is a reworked version of the original Glow by JLo, and features the same smooth, curvaceous shape. This time the colour-scheme is a deep ocean blue. An anklet adorns the bottle as the trademark personal touch from Lopez. The outer carton is a corresponding graduated turquoise and blue.

The full Blue Glow by JLo product line-up comprises 30ml, 50ml and 100ml edt sprays, plus a 200ml glistening body lotion.

Check out this item from Italian news channel TG5 in which they interview Jennifer Lopez in the Yamamay store. They say that she has a new album and movie coming out in January and at the end of the video the female news anchor says that her new single will come out in September.

The video is a little out of sync but it’s better than nothing…

The first single off Jennifer Lopez’s upcoming album, rumored to be titled, “Jennifer Lopez – 10 Years Hooked on You.” As the song opens, Lopez sings, “Took a shot with the badboy from the block, picked my world right from the start Mr. Wrong, he plays his part.” As the song progresses, Lopez reminisces on past relationships, as she bounces from round one to round two, and then on to something new, each time she is left wondering if there is such a thing as she heads into round three, wondering if “there is a part for me.”

With each love, Lopez is left longing and wondering, if there is “One Love” or if its just hard to find the perfect one to call mine. Listening to her new single, it shows a more mature Lopez who has grown stronger with each new relationship.

With her marriage to Marc Anthony (the fourth guy — in a string of highly publicized relationships), and the birth of her twins, Lopez’s life over the past five years, has taken on many new transformations. In my opinion, this is Lopez at her finest — with strong beats and snare drums throughout, not to mention catchy lyrics, all that I needed was a Rastafarian hat and I would have felt like I was signing Bob Marley.

Loren and Jennifer.Have you heard the newest song of one of my best friends, Jennifer Lopez’s yet to be unreleased album? If not, you in luck, as I have a preview for you.

I’m totally in love with this song and with Summer right around the corner, can only imagine this being the Summer Jam — blaring through the speakers as the wind blows through my hair. Take a listen and let me know what you think about it. If I had one love, this would definitely be it! Jennifer has done a tremendous job with the production.
